Sherlock Holmes Movie Review

Before 12 midnight on 31 Jan, my family and I decide to watch a long awaited of movie "Sherlock Holmes". :P Since I am teenager, I always to read more stories about her and Dr. John Watson. I really love it! But, it is really different than what I read a novel.

O_o Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson always act as cool, but they also argue each other, like old couple but they are very close in their bond of friendship. That is why they are best friend. Dr. Watson never leave Holmes's side when he worried Holmes will face more dangerous mission...I think that Holmes sure need Dr. Watson's help when he is alone to solve mystery about Dark Magic. Holmes is very weird when he is very thinking so deeply and like to try examine about how magic and science can battled it all out...that is why he try to test himself. He needs to understand what is his enemies' mind.... At least, his brain is still working and the elements of criminologist remain intact...Amazing, his skills are use of astute observation, deductive reasoning!
Sometimes, you are seeing humour, action, mesmerizing dialog from Holmes. :D For example, he always show his humour action and talk jokes with Dr. Watson so, I think that he wants to bully Dr.Watson when he is in good mood. If he is in bad mood, he always act so messy, and love to do weird things.. Holmes is really very intelligence guy who think his action 1st before he does..but, he is really fast when he wants to find the answer so quickly! So, he is very risk taker.

Wow, many people wear black during twentieth centuries! They don't have more knowledges about science that compared with today. They always focus on more Politics and Economic in London..

For me, it is very good story. The Sherlock Holmes 2 will come out because I felt that Holmes's enemie will appear and face with him soon... You better to watch this movie if you're Sherlock Holmes's fan! :D

Storm Riders II Movie Review

The Storm Riders II is back now!! Wind and Cloud will fight with a ruthless Japanese warlord intent on invading China. So, Wind, Cloud and their allies must level-up their martial arts to eradicate the invaders. The process of leveling up their skills is fraught with life-threatening risks to themselves and their loved ones.






















My sisters and I bought the tickets for my dad because this movie is my dad's favourite..I remembered that my dad also watched the movie 'The Storm Warrior' before this...After we watch this movie at Mid Valley, I am really boring with this movie because I can say WIND and CLOUD's action are good but..it is not very amazing story. I think that the part of scene is very like 300 movie, but it also have graphic art... I really don't like the effects, such as speed, darkness and alot of blood out when they are in the war..lol! That is why many computer graphic are in this movie! For me, WIND is not enough to be evil!

When it come to the ending, they focus on WIND and CLOUD's action only. They always fighting each other after they kill a powerful enemies...I felt that they are very show off about their skill of kungfu when they are fighting each other! So, they are 'cool'! :P Sometimes, I don't understand what is about this story... :) The ending is not enough good because I felt this will continue to another movie again. What about you? This is really good or not? :D I still prefer The Storm Warrior!

Kyoukai no Rinne

You remembered about the popular manga, Inuyasha and Ranma which worked by Rumiko Takahashi? I love Inuyusha because this story is very amazing and make more challenges between Inuyusha's group and evil enemies- youkai, spirits, etc! It is very interesting story! I not yet finish read Ranma manga..Haha. Check out my review about Inuyasha and Ranma.

After Rumiko finished the long story of Inuyasha, Kyoukai no Rinne is new manga just released in last month. It called 'Rinne' - japanese manga series written and illustrated.. The story of new manga is about a girl who got lost in woods mysteriously then acquire ability to see ghosts and spirits. I not sure if this will be horror story like Inuyasha?

THE SUMMARY

Sakura Mamiya, a high school girl who became able to see ghosts after she was "spirited away" for a week when she was a child, though she does not remember the details of the experience. Once in high school, Sakura wishes to be done with her extrasensory perception which is an annoyance to her. She meets a shinigami of sorts named Rinne Rokudo, a classmate of hers who was absent for the first month or so of school. His job is to guide spirits, who are bound to the Earth due to regrets, to the wheel of reincarnation so that they may be reborn. The wheel appears as a large red, spoked wheel revolving in the sky...

When I read this manga, I feel that this girl is really stupid, not like Kagome (Inuyasha) and Akane (Ranma).. Sometimes, she looks as cute, but she still confuse about what is different between human and spirits.. I am sure that she will make more trouble with Rinne when he has a mission about exorcises a spirit while he works as 'Shinigami'. Maybe she try to understand about 'another world'..

For me, she looks as Kagome? Because she can see the ghosts and spirits..What you think about it? :P



Rinne is Sakura's classmate and shinigami that sending the ghosts/spirits to another world through a large red, spoked wheel revolving in the sky..Why his hair is red?? He looks as Ranma character..I think that he is similar as 'Inuyasha' but, he also acted as 'cool' or sometimes show his pififul sin..He is funny when he still need coins and money to exorcise a spirit.. That is why he always borrow $$ from Sakura..He is really poor and don't have alot of clothes... Its surispre me about a shinigami need to pay $$ if he/she want to exorcise..? :P

So far, Kyoukai no Rinne has been kinda Bleach-ish, with Shinigami thing going on.. I like the beautiful red wheel used as the path to another world, mean if you die, you will send there.. Rinne's grandma knew something about Sakura? We will see what happen about this story! :)

I remembered that this is very old manga since I finished my primary school..I love the comendy story! It also translated as Bahasa Malaysia.. Sad, it is not yet to be complete! This art looks pretty good for this type of monster hunting mission.. Wow.. Reiko Mikami is the best ghost sweeper in Japan. She'll accept any job no matter how dangerous as long as the price is higher! She is very strong than her enemies..She refuses to give up! Tadao are very stupid and pervert! But, he suddnelly be strong when he got his ability from a god... One day, he can protect Mikami and Kinu? :P He always don't want to be killed..Haha this is funny..

They also busy with the vampire, wolf, ghosts, and demon mission. It is not easy but luckily, they got help from a god! O_o Mikami got an ability time-lighting from her mom! She can go to the past or future! But, she don't control her own ability..

So, it is very interesting and comedy manga! :) Finally, the MangaFox release new manga: GS Mikami! I am very happy! ^ ^

Tactics

THE SUMMARY

Tactics follows the exploits of the young man with the ability to see goblins and other mythical beasts named Kantarou Ichinomiya. Ever since he was born he had the 6th sense to see the demons and others mythical creatures called “Oni”. When he was a little boy his friend Oni told him about the creature that is stronger than Oni called “Tengu”, it is the legendary demon-eating goblin. Since that story told him he dream to have a Tengu that will be his buddy forever. When he grew up he became a folklorist, who write books and article about Japanese folklore, but he also work as a monster buster secretly. In the episode “The Black Goblin Awakens”, Kantarou went to exorcise monster he was lead to a rural shrine up in the mountain where the Tengu, demon-eating goblin was sealed there. When Kantarou breaks the seal, he named the Tengu Haruka, in naming a Tengu it forces to be a slave of someone who gave name with it. As the fulfillment of Kantarou dream, Haruka became his partner in fighting the evil Oni. With his tengu and his kitsune, they solve mysteries, and help the yokai situation in Japan.

I like the mystery screen about Minamoto Raiko and his group of soldiers come in. Together with another formidable demon, Raiko and his attendants plot many plans to try and force Kantarou to cancel the name contract or make Haruka awaken his real powers, such that they would be able to capture Haruka and present him to "that person" whose identity is unknown. If the name contract is not canceled or if the master dies, Haruka's power would forever be restrained and he would not be able to be used by the antagonists. But unfortunately those antagonist did not success in their evil mission and Haruka back in his senses and go back to Kantarou. They start again and do their usual routine such as fighting evil spirit and saving people. So, this make me curious about who is Haruko's previous master because I saw his previous master alike as Kantarou.. Maybe is Kantarou's dad or grandpa.. :D

It is weird that Haruka love to wear a tuxedo after he released from his seal.. :P Maybe he hate to wear the traditional cloth that remind him to remember his past? Or he changed his personality since he wakes up from sleep..? Well, my friends said this is the somewhat unspoken love between Kantarou and Haruka. So, the underlying homosexual tension never evolves nor is mentioned by any character, it is evident throughout the series … until the end where their relationship turns sour..

But, we sure said this story is very good and get funny characters also give u laugh out!

Ghost Hunt

Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. The story begins during an exchange of ghost stories between Mai and her friends, who are interrupted twice: first by a mysterious "male student" and then by a fellow classmate, who warns them of how their ghost stories attract spirits..until she meets 17 year-old Kazuya Shibuya, the man sent by Shibuya Psychic Research Center to investigate paranormal activity at a supposedly haunted school. When Mai gets caught in a dangerous situation, she is rescued by Kazuya's assistant. Saving her lands the assistant incapacitated, and Kazuya demands that Mai become his assistant, instead...

Ghost Hunt is getting exciting. I think that it is good story because this is a bit thriller and supernatural, but Mai is very cheerful and funny! :D . I really like about how the team investigated the mysterious of place; hospital, school, church, and etc.. :D Before I started to watch this horror 'Ghost Hunt', I thought that it will be boring if the story will make you scary only! But, it got comedy and enjoyable series too! :D Then it is nice and make me curious about what's next answer so I cannot wait for next episodes! ^ ^ Wow, there are the people have different ability for the ghost/spirit of exorcisman that joined in a team, such as an Onmyoji user, Buddhist Monk, Miko priestess, Catholic exorcist priest, and Spirit medium which have the ability to speak to the dead! It make me wonder if they are strong ot not! :D

Kazuya Shibuya is very quiet guy because he don't like social with people..Maybe he has other reason? His team always call him - his nickname "Naru". Mai thought that Naru is rude because he ingnore what she is trying to talk with.. But, Naru is not bad guy because his action are protecting Mai and his team.. :) It is weird about why Mai always dreaming about when she is in danger, other "Naru" appeared to her suddnelly..His personality is different than "Naru" ! O_O He always smile and try to tell her about what she needs to do.. Who is other "Naru" in Mai's dream?

This series is really nice and has 1 - 25 episodes only.. I really hope that they will do the 'Ghost Hunt' season two! You better to watch this anime! :D

Rogue

THE SUMMARY

An idyllic wildlife cruise disintegrates into terror when a party of tourists are stalked by a massive man-eating crocodile. Pete McKell, a cynical American journalist, joins a disparate group of holiday-makers on a river cruise through the waters of Kakadu National Park. Initially Pete clashes with their tour captain, Kate, a feisty young woman who assumes he is just another 'city-slicker' in search of a quick thrill. After an uneventful day cruising the river, Kate is reluctantly persuaded to steer their boat into unexplored territory. They discover a secluded lake but terror strikes when their craft receives a powerful blow from beneath the murky depths and begins to sink. With little choice, she beaches the vessel on the closest dry land -a tiny mud island. With a rising tide and only half an hour of daylight left, fear grips the group as they realize they are trapped in the lair of a 'rogue' crocodile, governed only by its need to hunt and kill.

Begrudgingly, Pete and Kate join forces to keep hysteria at bay and in the process start to see beyond their initial impressions. Their first attempt to escape fails, but then Pete has an idea - they must trap the crocodile to enable the group to flee to the other side of the island whilst Kate swims for help. Pete volunteers to stand guard, but without warning, the beast breaks free and targets Kate who fails to resurface. As darkness descends and the muddy waters rise, a terrifying struggle ensues with only one probable outcome death.

It is a quite good movie, that is the worth to watch and enjoy! For me. it could be considered as the "rival" to Jaws. Hehehe... Eh, you don't know what is Jaws? You better have to check with the video shop. =P The difference is that they use crocodile in this Rogue while shark(s) in Jaws. Do you like crocodile? =P This time, the crocodile is bigger...Yeah, 4 - 5 times bigger and fatter (and of course getting uglier) that is enough to sunk a large boat or to bite a person in one shot! but smaller than the man-eating crocodile in Lake Placid.... Hehehe... This damned crocodile is smarter, I was shocked... O_O

Ghost House

THE SUMMARY

It happens on one night when the police are informed that people heard a scream of a girl from a house, and that she might is suspected of being hurt. The police arrive at the house to find that its owner is a 30-year-old woman who just moved in with her 7-year-old daughter. The kid shows symptoms of mental illness. Her arms are bruised. The mother refuses to have her daughter sent for a medical check-up. However, due to legal condition, she has to take her daughter to see a psychiatrist. And that is the first time Krit meets Ing-On and the poor neurotic girl “Phrae”


During the treatment Ing-On tells Krit about Phrae’s symptoms of hallucination and paranoid. However, the girl insists that she has been harassed by the evil spirit of a boy, not by her mother. Krit sympathizes with Phrae because she is of the same age as his child. But the closer Krit gets to this family, the more he feels that the house has some mysterious ambience and there are some inexplicable things happening: the sudden change of Ing-On’s emotional status; her strange way of raising her daughter, and the mysterious fingerprints on Phrae’s arms. Krit has to find out the answer as to who or what caused them.

I thought it is really very horror but when I was watching this movie, this movie was very disappointing. It is not completely horror movie, didn't feature that much supernatural being in this movie. This movie focuses more on psychology or mental illness problem which causing the victim themselves hallucinated what they wished for. Or it is rather be called a "Memory Creation" to satisfy or abuse their own emotions! That's all I can tell only. I don't think I can elaborate more about this movie as this movie is not that "grabbing attention" one. As I know, Thai is supposed to be a great producer for horror-genred movie! But this time, this movie got no good else!

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Yoooo~! Sorry for being away for a quite long time...and yeah, I'm back here to write some reviews... Recently I watched some movies and read some manga, and I'm gonna write those reviews down. One by one... Be patient ya..

What I am writing its review is the movie "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" which has finally came out after 7 years the second sequel of its line : The Mummy Return.... =_= pretty long time already.


THE SUMMARY

Opening with the rise to the power of Emperor Han, the Dragon Emperor who had successfully conquered most of enemies as well as he mastered five elements. He however, is not able to conquer his own death and he decided to seek for a sorceress named Zi Yuan who knew where to get the secret of immortality. He wanted Zi Yuan for himself and instructed his General not to touch her. Too bad as they have fallen in love during their search for the secret of immortality. Unknownst, their journey was spied by someone who's loyal to Emperor. Upon their return from the search and Zi Yuan made a ritual for the Emperor, she then was invited to the balcony to witness the murder of her beloved man. Soon, the Emperor discovered that he together with his army is cursed into terra cotta statues. Zi Yuan of course, successfully escaped to somewhere wounded.

Jumped in 1947, the O'Connell couple was given a task to deliver "Eye of Shangri-La" to a museum in China. Their adventure began as Roger Wilson who worked with Alex O'Connell during the exavation to locate the Dragon Emperor's tomb in a league with a paramilitary army group led by General Yang. General Yang had resurrected the Dragon Emperor with the "Eye of Shangri-La" into the animated terra cotta statue form. A msyterious Chinese lady tried to kill the Dragon Emperor with dagger but she failed as they escaped away.

At this time, the O'Connells family must stop the Dragon Emperor who wishes to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service. With the guide of Lin, a mysterious Chinese lady, they chased to Himalayas and tired their best to block them from locating the pool of Shangri-La. In the process, Lin summoned her friends, Yeti to assist them to block them as well but the Emperor succeeded in locating the pool of Shangri-La. Rick O'Connells get injured during protecting his son, Alex.

The O'Connells reached Shangri-La first and got Rick healed by Zi Yuan who is later revealed to Lin's mother and she was rescued by a Yeti after escaped from the Emperor over 2,000 years. O_O They were ambushed by the Emperor who was able to shower into the pool without any problem. The pool restored him to human form and granted him a shapeshifting ability as well. He transformed into three headed dragon and kidnapped Lin to the excavation site to summon his Terracotta Army.

At the same time, Zi Yuan managed to revive the undead army that buried beneath the Great Wall by sacrifricing her immortality and that of her daugther. Led by the General Ming, the massive battle ensued while Zi Yuan went to fight one-to-one with the Emperor. She sacrifriced her life to steal the dagger then gave Lin the dagger and told her to stab the Emperor's heart. Alex and Rick joints to stab the Emperor causing the Emperor to be destroyed.

The peace restored back at Imhotep, a pub which was once operated by Jonathan... Alex and Lin dancing, finally can kiss. And the old O'Connells were dancing as well..

The concept of the Mummy 3 is a bit disappointed. I thought the concept of the Eygptian mummy would be re-stylized to Asian but the one that Jet Li portrayed is not really the Mummy. What the heck the Mummy can transform into three headed dragon? The concept run off from the basic concept of Mummy. Hahaha.. Whatever.. it's only my personal opinion since I love the "undead". It reminded me of doing this concept during my Final Year Project before the graduation.

Anyway, the story is just good...Let's say if there is 10 stars for voting, I would give its only 6 stars. Hahaha. Brendan Fraser still did a good job. But I missed Rachel Weisz who portrayed Evelyn back in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. Her character was very attractive - lovely and adventureous. But this time, Eve is totally different, really a rough and forceful woman! I feel like wanna faint when watch her action. OMG! =D If there is a sequel from The Mummy, I wanna Rachel Weisz back to return to portray this Evelyn!!! I wish!

InuYasha

THE SUMMARY

Higurashi Kagome, after being pulled down a well by a demon, then finds herself in Feudal Japan, where she learns that a powerful jewel has been reborn inside her body. After the jewel shatters in an attempt to retrieve it from one of the many demons who was after its power, Kagome must join forces with the half-demon Inu Yasha who is also after the jewel's power) to track down the shards of the jewel before its power falls into the wrong hands. The series follows a time-traveling middle school student, a half-demon, a lecherous monk, a fox-demon, a demon slayer, and a nekomata during the Sengoku period as they seek to find all the fragments of the Shikon no Tama and to keep them out of the hands of evildoers, especially Naraku..

Inuyasha and his friends always busy to find Naraku who hide in the unknown place. It make me surisped about Naraku created many clones which come from his body! but Naraku's clones have different of personality.. They have to fight with many youkeis , demons, and many during their jounery..@_@ Sango need to save her youngest brother from Naraku's place..but how? Inuyasha cannot accept his lover, Kiykyo will die at hand of Naraku.. They almost lose to Naraku! Lucikly, they have Kagome because she always give advice to them while they suffered. :) I think that they are 'true friends'! Can they win over Naraku when he completed collecting the shard of the evil Shikon no Tama?

I remembered that the Inuyasha started in 1996 since I was in my primary school... It have a lot of chapters in this story! @_@ But, I am very happy when Inuyusha finally has been completed in 2008~ This ending of story is very nice! ^ ^ The scenes - the characters who was killed by Naraku that make me very sad. I really angry at Naraku because he likes to exploit his servants and people and tricks Inuyasha and his friends into falling for Naraku's traps..

This is great story! I hope that the artist of Inuyasha will make new manga again~ :D

Supernatural

This serial drama follows Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean traveling across the country with Dean's black 1967 Chevy Impala to investigate the paranormal events or other unexplained occurances, mostly of them based on American urban legends and folkore as well as classic supernatural beings such as vampires, werewolves and ghosts.

SUPERNATURAL SEASON ONE

Season One begins with Dean asking Sam to join him on a quest to find their father who is missing during his hunt. Sam reluctantly joins him to find father with a condition that Dean must send him back once the mission completed. After the mission is completed, Sam finds out that his girlfriend died on him so he eventually joins his brother in a journey to find his father and hunt down the murder of his girlfriend. During their adventure, they also do the side quest to keep the town clean from the supernatural being's disturbance.

SUPERNATURAL SEASON TWO

After reuniting with their father, they learn out that the murder of their mother and Sam's girlfriend is a demon after all. At the same time, they are being attacked by some low-level demons to prevent them from killing Azazel who was responsible on the death of their mother and Sam's girlfriend. Once they find him, they successfully kill Azazel, but Azazel's plans are accomplished and the gate to Hell is opened momentarily, releasing a horde of demons into the world.

SUPERNATURAL SEASON THREE

Now Sam needs to save Dean from his deal which costs his life to resurrect Sam in the finale of Season Two. Along the way, they meets a demon named Ruby who has an interest in Sam and claims to wish to help saving Dean as well as Bela Talbot, a seller of occult objects who is constantly a thorn in their side. They manage to track down the demon who holds the contract a powerhouse named Lilith who wants Sam dead. However, they ultimately fail to save Dean who, is in Hell afterwards.

Unlike the existing horror drama such as Ghost Whisperer or Charmed, I found out that it is really totally different in storyline, element, demonology and urban legend or folklore. The characters are quite pretty good. Their character can be funny and serious at the same time. They cherish each one too much which often causes people misunderstand that they are gay. That made me laugh and feel cute that the creator are able to bring it along with the humor and the entire series would look more contrast with different element.

I also like the supernatural beings in this series. All the supernatural beings has own uniqueness in their true origins, not like in Charmed which seems too common. For example, vampires is known as if the person is bitten by vampire would turn into a vampire. But in Supernatural, there are some different family category of vampires. This Supernatural drama channels to many versions of certain folklore, not only focus on one single folklore from one country.
