Movie Review: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

In the 21st century, A teenager Percy Jackson discovers he's actually a demi-God, the son of Poseidon, and he is the prime suspect when Zeus' lightning is stolen. Percy must master his newfound skills in order to prevent a war between the Gods that could devastate the entire world. He and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Do you know what is this story about the ancient Greek gods, such as Zeus, Hades, Athena, Hermes and others? Mount Olympus was the home of the Greek gods, but did you know to get there all you have to do is take an elevator secretly located inside the Empire State Building to get there? I was shocked to learn Medusa owns a stone-status shop! in New Jersey and...What?! Underground of Hell is located in Hollywood?!

When I watched the Medusa's part, it remind me to read a greek story about Perseus cut her head..With help from Athena and Hermes, who supplied him with winged sandals, Hades' cap of invisibility, a sword, and a mirrored shield, he accomplished his quest. That is why it is similar when Percy are saving his mother as his quest while he are fighting with evil monsters with a daughter of Athena and half-goat man. He also have a sword, winged shoes and gold mirror which given by a son of Hermes, Luke.

There are a magical training facility is set up in the woods for their half-human, half-god children (referred to as demigods) to learn their skills, such as they learn how to fight with used the swords, how to plan the strategy battle, etc...Like Harry Potter who learn how to use magic in the school castle... :P

But, Lotus casino in Las Vegas part is very boring. They better to use Cerberus, three-headed dog, guarded Hades' underworld when Percy and his friends visit Hades! -_- Because they use the monster dogs who guard Hades's home. Why Hades is a fire demon?! For me, he is not demon..He just is god of death who ruled the underground 'Hell'. so, it is not impressive about Hades' part. Percy and Luke always fighting in the air... O_o He is very strong when he used the magic of water.. He really need water because it can heal and power up on him!

Natsume Yuujinchou

Summary

From the first season, Natsume was born with his ability to see spirits and this ability wasn’t an easy burden to carry. As a child he didn’t realize that other people couldn’t see the same things as he. So while his parents might have put up with it, when they died and he went to live with relatives – they found him creepy and didn’t want anything to do with him. Eventually Natsume gets passed to a distantly related household of a older childless couple. This couple treat Natsume kindly and he attempts to cover-up his ability because he does not want to be a bother to them.

The “Book of Friends”, as you’d imagine, is a very powerful item since Reiko defeated so many spirits in her time. As a consequence, many spirits would love to get their hands on it and many other spirits would simply like their names back. To help protect himself Natsume extracts a promise from Nyanko-sensei to be his bodyguard. So over the course of the series we get to meet spirits that want the book or want their names back or just Natsume’s help.

There are getting two seasons; Natsume Yuujinchou and Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. I think that Natsume Yuujinchou is a perfect summer-series. This story shines in the dream-like atmosphere it manages to create the calm and happniess that you can relax at as it progresses with its heart-warming stories about the interaction between spirits and humans. Many youkai are different creatures in the world! O_O Some youkai don't like human, sometimes they like human.. Some want the strong power, or many..

I really like Nyanko-sensei because it is cute cat spirit! :D First time, I saw this cat is different and looks as 'lucky cat' than normal cat.. :) Really good idea! He always love to drink sake, eating a lot, and still acts as 'funny' cat who is very sturborn! ^ ^ He always fight with Natsume.. But, he is very strong when he transformed into real 'white wolf'! Natsume is not strong as his grandmother but he still want to help the youkai and try to understand them about what they like to interact with human...

I feel pity about Natsume because he don't have any friends and always stay alone... Since he moved into his grandma's place, the 'Book of Friends' changed his life and he spend alot time with Nyanko-sensei to meet a lot of youkai who know his grandma so very well.. He also get new friends; classmates; a friend who can see the spirit and etc...Wow, Natsume is very famous and really alike as his grandma! I thought that Natsume's grandma hates human because they always bully her or don't want to near her.... :P but her heart is very care about youkai and human... She never forget them.. I wonder why she leave many things that she never solve the problem..? Maybe she wants to make her generation continue this..?

This story is really great and make funny scenes, especially nyanko-sensei.. XD The artwork is simple but it make more interesting about different youkai and the touching stories! You better to get the chance to catch this great show, I’d strongly recommend that you do!

Night at the Museum 2

THE SUMMARY

Three years after Larry Daley is now head of Daley Devices, a company that he founded to manufacture his inventions. When he visit his old musuem, he finds that the American Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, and some of the museum pieces are being replaced by interactive holograms. The actual exhibits are moved to the Federal Archives at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. On the last night, Larry meets the museum pieces such as Teddy Roosevelt, Rexy the Tyrannosaurus Skeleton, and Dexter the Capuchin Monkey (Crystal the Monkey) and finds out that several exhibits, including Teddy, Rexy, the Easter Island Head (Brad Garrett), and good Pharoah Ahkmenrah and his Tablet are not moving to The Smithsonian Institution - without the Tablet of Ahkmenrah, the other exhibits will no longer be animated. The next night, Larry gets a call from Jedediah (Owen Wilson), saying that Dexter stole the tablet last midnight and evil Pharaoh Kahmunrah, Ahkmenrah's older brother, is attacking them. Larry goes to Washington and visits the BIG museum in order to save Jedediah and his group!

Night at the Museum 1 that i watched before so, it is really comedy movie. My sisters and I like this movie because it is very interesting story! Finally, the Night of the Museum 2 come out already. My sisters and I went to watch it again! :D

The overall movie content,storyboard and graphical effect was kinda entertaining! When the night come, the battle is start like a crazy war!...I started laughing since the movie started till it end...It show the interesting happening in the museum at night as well as the new things come out in the different museum, such as the art museum, space museum, and etc! All is one BIG MUSEUM at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC because an ancient Egyptian tablet that has the powered to bring things to life..That is why it is not easy for Security guard Larry Daley in order to rescue Jedediah and his group..

Wow, the things can move in the art drawing pictures!! Same for the flying rocketships, the space thing, a grouchy great octopus, a collection of Albert Einstein puppets, Varth Death, 1st president Washington, Abraham Lincoln and etc.. This is a complex story that was tons of historical references and charters from threw out history which is a kind of history lesson, which is cool for kids and adults! Finally, they can back to old museum..but wahh.. Larry got good idea to make the old museum re-open at night only and gain more visitors so, all the statue, mannequin will also move and answer the visitor's question! It is very interesting and humor story. :)

Angels & Demons

THE SUMMARY Angels & Demons is based on the novel by Dan Brown and has a returning Tom Hanks as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon. He is called upon by the Vatican to help investigate the kidnapping of four Roman Cardinals during the voting in of a new pope. What he finds is more a terrorist threat. A bomb has been planted somewhere in Vatican City and it is up to Langdon, a female scientist Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer ) and the prior popes right hand man Camerlengo Patrick McKenna (Ewan McGregor) to figure out ancient clues to find the bomb and save the Cardinals. It is a race against time and old church tradition. The terrorist plot points toward an ancient sect known as The Illuminati, a group who has a century’s old vendetta against the Catholic Church. Langdon must decipher their history in order to find the clues necessary to save the day!

I have two famous books; Angels & Demons and Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown because it make me like to know more about the mystery murder which is related with the historical information 'Jesus' and 'Vatican's secret'.

When I watched the movie, it added some history of Rome was awesome and guide to the path which give the interesting information... I think that Robert's performance and spirit with a nice touch and sense of humor. :) I like the Angels & Demons because it is better than the Da Vinci Code movie because it combines ancient church culture, a thrilling race against time, and a treasure hunt of Roman artistry, amazing history about elements and science, and mysterious places.. When a priest meet Robert Langdon, he asks, "Do you believe in God?" Well, it is hard to answer this question for me, so it depends on your life to believe what you see in your heart or keep to faith in God?

I am thinking a question about antimatter bomb, a tiny device with the power of a nuclear warhead is existed in our world or not? The landscape of clouds looks great and beautiful when the antimatter bomb finish the battery, then want to BOM!.. This is very interesting story...You need to find out who is real bad guy behind this plan to destroy the Vatican! :P You will enjoy the movie for what it is: an exciting mystery, set in the awe-inspiring beauty of Rome, murder at the Vatican and a secret and powerful society known as the "Illuminati"!

Saiunkoku Monogatari

THE SUMMARY

Kou Shuurei's dream has always been to become a government official, but to do so she must take the Imperial Examinations, which women are not allowed to do. To compensate, she works at a temple teaching children in order to pass her dream on to those who can do what she cannot. Shuurei was born into a noble familly, but she and her father, who live together with their adopted son, Seiran, are very poor. Seiran wants to be Shuurei's body guard because he wants to protect Shuurei..The house is in disrepare and Shuurei must work odd jobs to make ends meet, while her father holds a position as a librarian to the Imperial Palace, a job that is very presigious but pays very little.

Shuurei is very hard working and always does her best at both house hold chores and her many jobs, but she can be a bit of a workaholic sometimes and when she gets into something she never stops working to get the job done.

Shuurei's whole world s turned upside down, however, when she recieves a request to come and work at the Imperial Palace as the temporary consort and tutor to the young Emporer, Shi Ryuuki, who shows a very promenent distaste for the kingdom and seems to be especially dull-witted. Shuurei, with a bit of pushing and prodding, as well as some good advice and a very strong will, manages to get the Emporer to learn at least a little, but he might not be as thick-skulled as he seems. And maybe he sees more in Shuurei than he should, and therefore may be just the person to make her dreams come true...

I love this anime because it is an interesting when Shuurei try to take the exam, but she faces lot challenges from the greedy, evils, and inresponbility officers in the palace..So, it is not easy for her.. They always turn down on her because she is woman.. But, she is lucky because she get her friends who support her, especially the emporer Ryuuki. He cannot help her in the front of the officer because he is aware of his status as important 'emporer'. I think that they always love each other in their secret.. lol.. Funny,Shuurei thought that Seiran and Ryuuki are gay since beginning.. Maybe Seiran fell love on Shuurei so early since he is kid who adopted by Shuurei's parent..That is why he still want to follow her go to where.. Ryuuki cannot follow her and put his trust on Seiran and his friends when she gets the mission at outside..

This is very great! I finished to watch the season 1 and 2 ;Saiunkoku Monogatari. It still not yet complete, so it will continue to new season 3.. I will buy this anime when its complete! ^ ^

I know that it is not easy for Shuurei to choose Ryuuki or Seiran because she still love both!! :D

Better to buy new anime DVD or enjoy to read the manga Sainukoku Monogatari!

Aria the Animation

There are three of best friends; Akari, Aika and Alice who working as the Undine. They always be together during their training and festivals. They are wearing the different uniform; Aria Company, Orange Planet Company and Himeya Company. They are very funny! Akari looks as stupid.. :P But, she make everyone happy and love with the Neo-Venezia city! I never think that they are same as their seniors also trained together before! :O Maybe their companies's generation still continue if retired undine will quit, new undine will come to join..So, Akari will replace her senior, Alicie on one day..

When I visit the anime blog, I found out the the Aria's art was vibrant a full of rich colour, just like in the original! So, I try to read this manga, then it really make me feel comfortable and fell love with the looking of beautiful cities in the Mars planet!! Aria is a beautifully done little treasure that I think is best story with the good value & moral teaching. It also have beautiful graphic of 'four seasons'- summer, winter, fall, autumn! Some festivals involved in the city, such as, Mask Festival, Fox temple, and many! It is very good! I really like this graphic.. There are most mysterious places is very unique! Especially, Cat Sith's world! That's why the artwork is wonderous, and sometimes captivating in it’s wide visuals of the beautiful city of Neo Venezia. It is really quiet joyful reading..and attract more readers love to read the Aria manga.

Many times though the overall enjoyment overrules those tedious episodes. However with Aria, I have never once gotten bored with it and I want more episodes and more story and more goodness from Neo-Venezia!

Mythbusters is my favorite show, will be exploring the rumors about if you leave your Xmas tree lights on all night it just might burst into flames!! Fun!! Also, a very dangerous vodka myth! The lovely and talented Kari will find out if pouring vodka on a jellyfish sting will ease the pain. Personally, if I got stung by a jelly fish, I'd drink the vokda. But that's just me. It is funny when the other team-three expert assistants;Kart, Tory and Grant try to build some serious alien technology - anti-gravity.. Kart is cheerful girl, who really enjoy to do some experitmentation! That is why she is very good in her favourite subject; science. Grant is a genius?! He can bulid the electronics, and technology by himself.. o_O Tory is good bulider, but he likes to give a try to test some dangerous things by himself!

InuYasha

Inuyasha and his friends always busy to find Naraku who hide in the unknown place. It make me surisped about Naraku created many clones which come from his body! but Naraku's clones have different of personality.. They have to fight with many youkeis , demons, and many during their jounery..@_@ Sango need to save her youngest brother from Naraku's place..but how? Inuyasha cannot accept his lover, Kiykyo will die at hand of Naraku.. They almost lose to Naraku! Lucikly, they have Kagome because she always give advice to them while they suffered. :) I think that they are 'true friends'! Can they win over Naraku when he completed collecting the shard of the evil Shikon no Tama?

I remembered that the Inuyasha started in 1996 since I was in my primary school... It have a lot of chapters in this story! @_@ But, I am very happy when Inuyusha finally has been completed in 2008~ This ending of story is very nice! ^ ^ The scenes - the characters who was killed by Naraku that make me very sad. I really angry at Naraku because he likes to exploit his servants and people and tricks Inuyasha and his friends into falling for Naraku's traps..

This is great story! I hope that the artist of Inuyasha will make new manga again~ :D

Indiana Jones and the Kindgom of Crystal Skull

THE SUMMARY

This is great story! It make me laugh more because Jones and Mutt also showed their comedy action while they are fighting with Colonel Irnia.. :D But, most of excited places are historical pyramid "Incan" and big waterfalls in Peru.. :O Beautiful.. But, this scenes where Indiana and others face, which was dangerous because there are got lot of explosive which used..o_O

What is the Crystal Skull and Nazca Lines? Your guess is as good as mine. Shonen Onmyouji

A few months ago, I accidentally watched this anime on the TV channel; 8TV. It do attracted my attention. I however didn't follow up every episode as I was always forgot to catch up XD.. I heard from my friends that this anime is hardly found anywhere on the shop to be sold. Last Thursday, I went to Queensbay to buy movie ticket, I decided to drop in at Hong Kong Video Shop. Beyond my expectation, I found this anime in DVD format and bought it. =D

THE SUMMARY

During Heian period, there is a person named Masahiro Abe who is a grandson of the legendary Onmyouji Seimei Abe. He however lost his sixth sense and spiritual sight which allows him to see the spirits because his grandpa saw his spiritual sight was too strong for his young age and decided to seal it away for his own safety. Until Masahiro meets a cat/dog-like monster, Mokkun, he then gains the spiritual sight and begins exterminating the evil spirit.

Little by little, Masahiro reveals his true power and his innate power is not as powerful as his grandpa. He somehow hates being compared with Seimei and always being provoked by Seimei on minor mistake causing Masahiro has to name his grandpa as "The Old Fox Demon". Hence, he decides to surpass his grandpa to be the best onmyouji. Thus, Mokkun as his proctector and other Shikigami slowly starting to acknowledge him as Seimei's real heir and successor.

He tries his best to protects both youkai and people and stop the evil demons who had taken up residence surrounding the imperial capital from the unknown land in Western. He also keeps his promise of protecting the Princess Akiko of the Fujiwara Clan who is being targeted by the evil demons.

KYUUKI ARC

Kyuuki, a winged tiger from the West has been forced to evacuate to Japan after being heavily injured by another demon. He desires to eat Princess Akiko to replenish his spirit powers and heal his wounds. Thanks to him and an army of demons from the unknown Land in West, Masahiro begins harnessing the true power of the onmyouji to defeat them.

KAZANE ARC

A mysterious woman summons the vengeful spirit to wreck havoc in the imperial capital as the vengeful spirit tries to drain Yukinari's life. At same time, that mysterious woman appears to kill Seimei. From here, the event from fifty years ago begins to reveal and Masahiro learns the real truth about Guren. Someone is trying to open the gate to the underworld so he captures and controls Guren to unlock the gate to the underworld. Masahiro has to undergo the ultimate test.

What I feel amazed about this serial anime is those character development as following in the story, the characteristic attributes shown in their own perception is getting deeper and stronger as they acts as protectors to each others...@_@ and getting their relationship strongly bonded and binded. Sounds like they have affection towards each others like they are not brothers O_O but it's not shonen incest =P

Besides that, the magic and fights are pretty good and fun. Masahiro may is not so powerful as his grandpa is. However, he still strive to improve and enhance his skills to get through victories with the aid of Guren/Mokkun or/and other Shikigami.

Oh, saying about Mokkun, he is really mischievous little creature. When he is in a disgust of Mokkun, he is such jerk, always playing trick on people who is unable to see him. What's more is that he only plays trick on people who messes with Masahiro. That's so cuute when his actions irritate Masahiro!!

Go buy this anime and you will enjoy this anime for sure ^_^
